Xiamen East Ocean Fishery Co., Ltd. Xiamen East Ocean Fishery Co., Ltd. is a family owned company, found in 1997 by Mr. Yurong Zhang, an elder but very experienced marine products businessman. Initially, Mr. Yurong Zhang ran trade business only. In 2003, he decided to put an investment of USD4,989,400 into building up a seafood processing plant by 3 stages which now mainly deals with octopus series products. After the first-stage project completed in April 2004, the plant covers an area of more than 8,700 square meters with total construction area of nearly 5,000 square meters. The freezing capacity is 1,000MT and the quick freezing capacity is 20T/2h. Considering the separation of human, goods, water and air comprehensively, every working room, aisle, channel and platform are carrying out germfree technique. Meanwhile, it is introduced with international advanced cold storage technique and facilities. All the working rooms are installed with various kinds of high-tech and highly-intellectualized systems, such as central air conditioning system, central automatic temperature control recording system, central ozone disinfection system and central supervision system. The south sea of Fujian is a famous sea area for octopuses. East Ocean owns a purchasing capacity of more than 8,000MT every year, including matako by basket caught, trawling and fishing. The annual exporting volume has been near 5,000MT, including raw materials, cooked whole octopuses, boiled or un-boiled cut octopuses (for sashimi, takoyaki, salad, sushi and karaage), sliced octopuses (for sashimi and sushi), skewed octopuses (for tako kushi) and barbecue octopuses. Besides the octopus series products, East Ocean also processes various kinds of other fish products (Japanese butterfishes, brown barracuda, purple pike conger fillets, sliver sillago fillets, squids and tilapia), dried small shrimps (unboiled, boiled and unboiled colored), crabs (whole one or cut), clam meat, fresh vegetables (welsh onion, carrots, radishes, cabbage, broccoli and onion) and other shellfish. All our products are exported to Japan, the USA, Australia, Thailand and Singapore. In terms of the strict domestic requirements for foods exportation and the exact requirements of USA, Japanese and EU countries, East Ocean has built up a quality safety system according to the standards of HACCP, TQC and ISO9001.
